New article on Jot Singh published on SikhNet and written by India based most respected Sikh elder - Tarlochan Singh

Article can be read on SikhNet here - correct birth date and corrected marriage year are listed below here. During a visit to the French Embassy in Delhi I saw a magazine “La Passion des couteaux”, published in French language from Paris. While glancing at the attractive magazine I was astonished to see the photo of a young Sikh on the front page, mentioning an article on the best knife-maker of the world. For me it was also an addition to my knowledge that there are magazines which cover only daggers and knives. This 80-page magazine is the foremost in this specialization. I requested...
Kirpans you and loved ones can be proud to wear!
Posted by JOT SINGH KHALSA
One of the gifts I have been afforded in this life is conceiving, designing and fabricating Kirpans of excellence. As a professional contemporary artisan for almost 45 years now, and having many immensely enjoy our ‘one-of-a-kind' Kirpans, we needed to bring out more affordable highest quality, beautiful Kirpans. Sikhs who consider themselves saint-soldiers, or any who are drawn to the concept of standing up for others can find profound blessings in this life through enabling this. To stand up for others who may struggle with the notion of standing up for themselves or others. So our Kirpans needed to be sharp...
Much gratitude and thanks - just prior to turning 70 years old
Posted by JOT SINGH KHALSA
My teacher used to say ‘don’t follow the trend - create the trend’. With gratitude and with God’s blessings and gifts, my team and I continue to conceive and bring forth new, innovative items (at this link we have an introductory offer - 20% off one/ 30% off more than one) to empower, inspire and heal. We consider bringing forth these items and offering them to you and others all over the world, a privilege and great blessing. Let us know if there is something you would like to see us manifest? Consider commissioning us to create the important kirpan, sword,...
An interview conducted by UK based Barking Dog Media and Inderbhajan Palahey from UK - longtime customer, become a dear friend….
Posted by JOT SINGH KHALSA
Khalsa Raj may be based in the United States, but their skills and capabilities have won them devoted followers around the globe. One of our earliest and very loyal clients is Dr. Inderbhajan Singh Palahey, who is based in Leicester in the UK, and who first discovered our work close to 30 years ago. “I found out about Jot while I was a student at university,” he recalls. “A dear friend commissioned a Kirpan (Sikh ceremonial dagger) from Jot Singh and was discreetly showing it to close friends, and we were all in total awe. It was like nothing I’d ever...
Our new exceptional stainless Damascus steel kara bracelets
Posted by JOT SINGH KHALSA

(Scroll down for Jot Singh sharing around his experience making legendary Damascus steel, in a video). If you wish to go directly to the bracelets, click here. Earlier in my career and for around 25 years, I forge-welded high carbon Damascus steel in our smaller manufacturing facility in Millis Massachusetts in the north eastern USA, with the help of a large belt-driven drop-hammer. (This 2 ton behemoth, pictured to the left and patented in 1909, was lowered down through the roof of the shop annex via crane, before we put...
Why many cherish our Kirpans…..
Posted by JOT SINGH KHALSA
It has always been our intention to create Kirpans that folks who purchase them are proud to own, gift and wear. The excellence in fit and finish, the durable, long lasting materials we incorporate and the practicality/sharpness that each one comes with make them ideal for collectors and those who call themselves Sikhs worldwide. (After all, if your Kirpan is not sharp, how well can you serve as a protector of the weak and innocent - if the One Creator puts you in a situation where your Kirpan may be required)? Many choose to give our Kirpans as gifts to...
Our approach creating one-of-a-kind artifacts...
Posted by JOT SINGH KHALSA
I consider it a gift and a blessing to have been afforded the temperament, disposition and varied skill sets to create thoughtfully designed and precisely crafted knives, swords, kirpans and jewelry. Often we commence with an original design - something we have sketched on paper or on the computer. It may have relatively simple flowing shapes or it may be rather complex with numerous subtleties and variations in form and detail. There may be gold, silver, platinum, gemstones and engraving or none of those. We are always wanting to fulfill the clients wishes and have them be satisfied and grateful beyond...
The delight and satisfaction in decorating and adorning people with our things
Posted by JOT SINGH KHALSA
Just this past Sunday, our sister Gurdwara (Sikh temple) in Westborough Massachusetts was celebrating Baisakhi - a Sikh holiday honoring the ‘birth’ of the Khalsa which is a ‘rite of passage’ within Sikhism for those who choose to be baptized and become Khalsa (a pure one). Almost 50 years ago now, I chose to be baptized. For me, it is a constant opportunity (and challenge) to shift thoughts and behaviors and endeavor to bring excellence into every facet of my life. A dear colleague and I set up a table of our merchandise and found wonderful interest in our things....
Finding blessings and miracles through serving others…
Posted by JOT SINGH KHALSA
Growing up outside Boston as a spoiled, white Jewish kid I had no experience or understanding of the notion of service to others. It was just not part of the culture in my realms at that time. It was not until at 19 years old when I embraced a methodology of yoga and meditation, which began bringing me inside of myself, as well as beginning to adopt Sikhism, where ‘service to others’ is widely practiced, that I started glimpsing the sacredness that can be part of deeply understanding this life-enhancing opportunity and privilege. For over 30 years, I was in...
Sikhi and Artistry ~ The Origin of Khalsa Raj
Posted by JOT SINGH KHALSA

Sikhism seemed to find me in 1972 through my embrace of kundalini yoga and meditation/Naam Simran and the affiliation I developed with my teacher, Yogi Harbhajan Singh aka Yogi Bhajan. This initial integration and transformation of becoming a Singh (lion) and a Khalsa (pure one) and the challenges I faced with that, were also a gift. As I began embracing yoga and meditation (which are forms of prayer for me) I also began practicing martial arts and have built my life around the blessings, healing and empowerment that have come through both of these disciplines. They have served to shape...
Ishnaan, the Science of Hydrotherapy (Cold Showers or immersions)
Posted by JOT SINGH KHALSA
It took me over 40 years to ‘warm up’ to the idea and bring myself to value cold showers enough to develop a commitment to indulge in them!! Now I believe my immunity to illnesses is enhanced as well as my circulation! My teacher introduced us to the concept. Now, it is a daily occurrence and in the snow and ice of New England USA winters, it is an early morning cleansing/quite tangible exhilaration! Grateful for this healthful habit!! Below from my teacher of many years - Yogi Harbhajan Singh I'd like to share the technology and science of...
One-of-a-kind Knives, Swords, Kirpans and Jewelry
Posted by JOT SINGH KHALSA
I consider it a gift that the One Creator affords me the presence of mind and the capacity to focus deeply with steady hands, as well as the joy and challenges that arise bringing forth original, inspired, artful and functional edged weapons and jewelry regularly. I’m also deeply grateful to be able to collaborate with gifted artisans, engravers, jewelers and stone setters. After almost 45 years of working at this, I’m recognizing that I’m more capable than I’ve ever been to execute complex and involved projects! You have an opportunity with us, to create something ‘one of a kind’ of...
