Our India service project

After starting to adopt Sikhism in the mid 1970's, I was fortunate to begin learning the importance of serving others in my life, very much a part of this noble religious tradition. Serving (or seva/sewa) became a wonderful opportunity for me to give of my time and to learn to work with others. This has continued and for over 30 years I was in charge of all adult food preparation at two annual international yoga events feeding around 2000. Pre-pandemic I continued to orchestrate one meal at one of these events and also a once-a-month meal locally feeding around 100. During the pandemic, I gratefully found varied ways to serve others, through posting inspirational content on social media.

I was afforded a vision decades ago, to 'make the name Khalsa (which means pure one or pure one's) synonymous with the name Fabergé' of Fabergé 'Jeweled' Egg fame. (Peter Carl Fabergé was a master artisan from Russia who created splendid artifacts for the Russian czars among others. He was prolific from the late 1800's-early 1900's) I plan to make this happened through teaching at an exceptional school based in Amritsar India. Read more about my project there and how you can support it if you might be so moved - here.
