Some illuminating thoughts on the Kirpan

We are grateful to Bhai Sahib Mohinder Singh Ahluwalia of Guru Nanak Nishkam Sewak Jatha in Birmingham, U.K., for sharing his views on the Kirpan and gatraa (Kirpan strap), along with their significance in promoting shared values, and allowing their inclusion here. (Obtained from him around the year 2005). The Kirpan isn't a weapon in the normal sense of the word, and has no equivalent in the English language. Its concept, wearing and use within the Sikh religion as an article of faith is unique and original. Weapons have been used throughout human history as implements to cause offense, harm,...

Guru Gobind Singh's legacy inspires our excellent Kirpans....

When we presented the most highly embellished sword we’ve ever created to Keshgar Sahib Gurdwara in Anandpur Sahib India in April ‘99, honoring the birth of the Khalsa, (which I was blessed to forge the blade of and fabricate the entire thing, with the assistance of numerous master artisans, engravers and two laser companies), a thought occurred to me. I wondered whether I might have been part of the 10th Master’s privileged chelas (devotees) and soldiers, defending truth and justice for all - back 300+ years ago in a previous lifetime?    As a contemporary artisan/designer, knife, sword, kirpan and jewelry...

From ChatGPT - The sacredness in manifesting a spiritual warrior presence.

I have been very fortunate in this life to embrace ‘learning to protect myself’/varied martial arts, as well as yoga and Naam Simran (meditation on the One Lord God/Waheguru) for 51 years now. Thought I’d share something  along those lines, from the rather resourceful ChatGPT …..

What are Guru Gobind Singh’s thoughts on the meaning of life, one’s purpose and having a moral compass? from ChatGPT

A friend asked ChatGPT the following - What are Guru Gobind Singh’s thoughts on the meaning of life and one’s purpose? ChatGPT Reply - Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth Guru of Sikhism, did not articulate a specific meaning of life or one's purpose in the same way as some philosophers might.   The Spiritual Warrior shines through, wearing our stainless Damascus steel kara bracelets and artisan kirpans… Our World has a great need - that more of us stand up as Spiritual Warriors – today! People are marginalized all around us on a daily basis. We hear about it on the news or we read about it through varied media. In Sikh history we have a wonderfully noble, most exemplary lineage where many stood up for the rights of others. At Khalsa Raj we are staunch supporters of continuing this noble legacy and tradition. For generations Damascus steel was used for...

Honoring the life and legacy of Guru Gobind Singh

I was fortunate to share the following recently in two Sunday Gurdwara programs in Massachusetts USA in April around the time of Baisakhi 2023. One of them in Westborough, where they are all Punjabi and many are friends and acquaintances, there were 200+ folks. Wahe Guru Ji Ka Khalsa ~ Wahe Guru Ji Ki Fateh – we were taught a nucleus meaning of that which is: I am the divine - so my attributes and so my actions. For me this is both an acknowledgment and a prayer. I would bet that some, if not many of you sitting here have stood up...

And opportunity for you to create something exceptional…. for yourself or loved ones.

I am most grateful that the One Creator has afforded me the capacity to be very creative and bring forth excellence in all of the edged weapons that we offer. For 45 years I have designed and handmade all kinds of knives, swords and kirpans full-time for collectors and Sikhs from all over the world. Oftentimes it is a privilege, to be afforded the opportunity to create something that may be enjoyed and/or inspire for generations. Recently, I finished two custom natural wood kirpans for a Canadian couple. Prior to shipping, I created a brief video describing the process and sharing...

A most relevant element of the legacy of the 10th Master of the Sikhs, Guru Gobind Singh

Featured on SikhNet.com / click here to read it there.  Many throughout the world who embrace living as Sikhs are proud to be associated with the inspirational legacy of the 10th founder of the Sikhs, Guru Gobind Singh. One of his notable attributes that resonates deeply for me is that he constantly stood up for others who were being marginalized in any way.  I am most grateful, in my 51st year of living as a Singh and a Khalsa, to have this stalwart figure as inspiration for my life course. After being bullied in my early teens, I began embracing...
