MEET JOT SINGH KHALSA
For 6 years, beginning in 1972, I trained intensively in art, jewelry making and metalsmithing at the State University of New York at New Paltz. There I learned to create silver and gold jewelry and artful objects in non-precious metals.
Shortly thereafter in New York City I attended the 1st New York Knife Show. Impresed by what I saw and handled I said to myself 'I can do this!' Currently we have a small manufacturing facility and home office, where my team and I design and fabricate handmade knives, swords and Kirpans (sacred Sikh knives). We also design, create and offer quite a bit of jewelry and more recently artful objects for the home, office and Gurdwara (Sikh Temple). All of these can be viewed and purchased right here on this site. We are happy to consider creating something unique and exceptional for you or loved ones. We believe in not following trends and rather reflecting and working diligently to create them. We are deeply grateful to hold this approach in developing our excellent product lines.
A little about this image: In April 2016 on Parliament Hill in Ottawa, Canada during a special Sikh celebration, one of our ‘Song of the Khalsa’ swords, which are made for us, was presented to Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau. It was to honor his efforts in supporting the diversity of Canadian culture, by populating his Cabinet with that same diversity.

Do you ship worldwide?
Yes we ship all over the world through UPS and DHL currently. Canada - next day and there are slower/less expensive options. UK - two days. Most other places 3 - 5 business days. In the USA we use USPS priority mail and UPS. All shipping costs you are quoted include insurance for the full value of your item.
How quickly do you ship items?
Most of the time we ship orders within 1-2 business days and we’ll let you know if that will not be the case. If something you have ordered is out of stock, we will let you know within 24 hours normally and offer a timeline for delivering that. We may also offer you in stock similar alternatives or tell you we’ll be be canceling your order. If you provide an email address with your order - you will receive a shipping notification when your order is boxed and ready to ship.
How can I find out how much shipping will be for my order?

Are Artisan Kirpan and ‘Song of the Khalsa’ sword sales f...
Yes these are not returnable. An exception would be if you find any kind of defect in materials or workmanship. We do inspect each kirpan and sword before we ship to you.
Do we use Sarbloh in any of our Kirpans?
No we do not. At the time of the Sikh Gurus this may well have been the best quality choice for a practical Kirpan. Modern technologies today, afford us better choices for edge holding, rust resistance and toughness.

We are firm believers in the sanctity of life. Sometimes during our ‘visit’ to life on earth it can be necessary, if one is so moved, to stand tall and defend ourselves and others. We believe this can be a sacred endeavor, to be a champion of justice and protector of the weak and innocent.
What is gold vermeil?
I like solid gold things and the prices of your gold vermeil items is attractive. The word ‘vermeil’ is a French word (pronounced vermay) which came into use in the English language, mostly in America, in the 19th century as an alternative for the term silver-gilt. At Khalsa Raj our gold vermeil pieces have heavier gold electro-plating than the U.S. industry standard, utilizing pure 24kt. yellow gold of 1.2 ten thousandths of an inch or 120 millionths of an inch in thickness. (The U.S. standard is 1 ten thousandth of an inch or 100 millionths of an inch). It is a very reasonably priced pure 24kt. gold finish, compared to the prices of solid gold, and the highest quality option to use in place of it. We have offered it confidently for over 4 decades. It is rare that we receive a request from a client to have any of their gold vermeil jewelry items, purchased from us, re-gold plated vermeil. A common practice in India and elsewhere in the world is utilizing flash-gold plating that is a very superficial gold finish, which often rubs off very quickly.

No - not at all. The Khanda / Adi Shakti is a universal symbol of infinity and unity amidst the polarities of creation. It pre-dates the Sikh religion. It can be worn by anyone who enjoys the visual reminder that balance and cohesion is possible where one understands and respects the Oneness in diversity. Our kara bracelets are made from highest quality solid stainless steels (and titanium nitride /durable gold-tone finish on stainless steel). Wearing steel, can help give us strength in our daily lives – by affording that ‘steel’ in our presence.
